What does engaging your audience mean to you?
To me, it means using research to truly understand who your audience is, what content they want, and how they want to receive it — then, crafting that content with a clear goal of engagement in mind. What are we asking our audience to do and why?
3 things you want people to know about you:
- I’m passionate about the nonprofit sector and enjoy leading opportunities for collaboration within the Richmond community.
- As president of the Richmond Chapter of the Public Relatins Society of America, I’m proud of the work we do in the community including creating a new nonprofit section to give nonprofit PR professionals the opportunity to network and share best practices.
- My favorite hobby is teaching fitness classes at Gold’s Gym in my spare time!
Jennifer Curtis, APR, is content manager at CarMax where she manages the planning, creation, and publishing of a mix of content for use across multiple communication channels including digital, social and email. Jennifer holds a master’s degree in strategic public relations from Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in nonprofit management. She has served on the board of PRSA Richmond since 2008 and currently serves as president.
